Broadband provides you with a fast and permanently connected Internet connection as opposed to a dial-up connection, which has a very limited speed. An added benefit of broadband is that you can use broadband to surf the Internet whilst using the telephone at the same time, which is not the case with a dial-up connection.
The speeds of broadband connections are continuously increasing with broadband line speeds of 8Mbps common. Essentially, via broadband, you can expect to download files 40 times faster than a dial-up connection. This means that a whole new Internet experience is opened to you.
With broadband you can watch movies or TV programmes online, listen to music, play online games… The list is endless.
The good news doesn't end there because as broadband technology is becoming more advanced and widespread, the speeds are increasing whilst the prices are decreasing due to the competition between the different broadband providers.
As there are so many current broadband providers, it may seem a daunting task to choose which broadband provider to use. This is where we can help.
Use our broadband comparison table for a snapshot of the current broadband providers and their respective products, or click on the broadband providers name if you know what you want.
