We all know that here in the UK we currently suffer one of the highest prices for petrol in the western world. On the one hand, ideologically we are taxed so highly on petrol in the hope that we are forced to cut back and take shorter journeys or take public transport in order to help save the environment. On the other hand, the high tax on petrol is a way for the government to raise funds using a mechanism whereupon most typical citizens will not have any option other than to accept the increasing fuel prices because the other options such as public transport are wholly inadequate (in the UK at least).Well, help is at hand from the people at Petrolprices. Their site uses a database that contains all petrol stations in the UK and up to date prices for unleaded, diesel and LGP fuels in your area. All you need to do is sign up for free, enter your postcode and specify how many miles you are willing to travel to obtain the petrol and the site will list the cheapest offers. Over the course of several months, the savings could really stack up.
